De affiche (zie hier voor de volledige versie) is een reclamestunt van de Folsom Street Fair, een jaarlijks gay evenement in en rond Folsom Street in San Francisco, dit jaar op zondag 30 september. De organisatoren noemen het “the granddaddy of all leather events”. Het traditionele brood en wijn zijn vervangen door sex speeltjes, en Jesus en zijn apostelen zijn half naakte homoseksuele mannen en vrouwen in lederen pakjes.

Amerika zou Amerika niet zijn zonder hevige reactie vanuit religieuze hoek. De ‘Concerned Women for America‘ klagen de heiligen schennis aan en vergelijken het evenement met een bijbelse Sodom en Gomorrah op kosten van de belastingbetaler.

Nog een geluk dat de profeet Mohammed niet werd afgebeeld of er zouden koppen rollen (letterlijk!).
